LONG BEACH, Calif. If you missed one of the most unique skateboarding events to come to Long Beach this year, you can finally experience it from home.
KASSO, the popular Japanese skateboarding television series, has begun releasing the official episodes from KASSO Fest: Skate & Sound, which made its historic U.S. debut in Downtown Long Beach earlier this year. The first episode premiered on the show’s official YouTube channel on June 26, while the second episode is scheduled to premiere on Friday, July 3, at 6 p.m. PDT.
Once both episodes are available, fans will be able to watch the complete television production that transformed Downtown Long Beach into an international skateboarding destination.
Long Beach Hosted KASSO's First-Ever U.S. Event
Held March 21 and 22 at Old Hall Plaza, KASSO Fest: Skate & Sound brought thousands of spectators together for two days of professional skateboarding, live music, art, food, and entertainment.
The event marked the first time KASSO expanded outside Japan, selecting Long Beach as the home for its inaugural U.S. festival.
Known for its creative skateboarding obstacle courses and television-style competition format, KASSO has developed a strong following in Japan before bringing the concept to Southern California.
For Long Beach, it was another reminder of the city’s deep skateboarding roots and its growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting international sporting and cultural events.
Watch the Official Episodes
Fans who attended can now relive the weekend, while those who couldn’t make it finally have the opportunity to see what everyone was talking about.
Day 1
Released June 26
Day 2
Premieres July 3 at 6 p.m. PDT
The episodes showcase the competition from a television perspective, featuring professional skateboarding, behind-the-scenes moments, and the energy that made Long Beach the backdrop for KASSO’s first U.S. production.
A Long Beach Company Helped Bring the Event to Life
Although KASSO originated in Japan, one local company played a significant role behind the scenes.
Long Beach-based Time & Space served as the production company for the event, helping transform the former City Hall site into a world-class venue capable of hosting an international television production.

Will KASSO Return to Long Beach?
KASSO organizers have not announced whether the festival will return for another event in Long Beach.
If it does, however, it will likely need a new home.
This year’s event was held at Old Hall Plaza, the former Long Beach City Hall property. The site is expected to be redeveloped into a large residential project, meaning the location used for KASSO will likely no longer be available for future festivals.
Even so, the success of the inaugural event demonstrated that Long Beach has both the audience and the skateboarding culture to support an international event of this scale.
Whether KASSO returns to Long Beach or selects another city for its next U.S. event, local fans can now relive the inaugural festival through the official episodes as they are released on YouTube.
