The Tacos N Beer 5K Run is returning to Long Beach on Saturday, September 12, 2026, and this year the event is switching things up with a new location and course.

We participated in the run last year, and it was a great event. The race was well organized, brought out a large crowd and had entertainment throughout the morning, including mariachi along the course. Once you finished, the event continued with tacos, drinks and live entertainment.

For 2026, the race is moving to another part of the Long Beach waterfront.

A New Course for This Year

Last year’s Tacos N Beer 5K started and finished at Marina Green Park. Runners and walkers headed east along the beachfront pedestrian path, passing the Junipero Beach area before eventually turning around and making their way back to Marina Green.

This year, the start and finish move to Shoreline Aquatic Park, right by the Long Beach lighthouse.

According to organizers, the new 3.1-mile course will head along the aquatic boardwalk toward Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina. At approximately 1.55 miles, participants will turn around and make their way back to Shoreline Aquatic Park.

Packet Pick Up

Participants can pick up their bib and T-shirt on Friday, September 11, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Sports Basement Long Beach, 2100 N. Bellflower Blvd.

Race-day pickup will also be available at the event from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. for a $5 fee. Organizers encourage participants to pick everything up Friday to avoid the fee and delays on race morning.

How Much Does It Cost?

Current listings show registration starting at approximately $69, although pricing can change as race day gets closer. The official registration includes the 5K, two tacos, one beer for those 21+, a T-shirt, medal, course entertainment and access to the post-race festivities.
