Beach Streets Returns July 19, With a Free World Cup Final Watch Party

If you thought Long Beach’s World Cup celebrations were over after the Downtown watch parties end on June 27, there’s one more big event on the calendar.

The City of Long Beach announced that Beach Streets will return to Downtown on Sunday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and this year’s event will double as the grand finale of Soccer in the LBC, complete with free big-screen watch parties for the FIFA World Cup Final.

While the LA Galaxy Soccer Celebration and Downtown Pine Avenue watch parties wrap up on June 27, the World Cup itself continues through the knockout rounds before ending with the championship match on July 19. Beach Streets will serve as Long Beach’s final community celebration of the tournament.

The biggest Beach Streets route yet

This year’s event will feature the longest Beach Streets route to date, giving people the chance to walk, bike, skate, or roll through several Downtown neighborhoods while enjoying local businesses, entertainment, and activities.

The route includes:

  • Pine Avenue from 1st Street to 9th Street
  • Broadway from Pine Avenue to Redondo Avenue
  • Cherry Avenue from Broadway to 4th Street
  • 4th Street from Cherry Avenue to Junipero Avenue

Where to watch the World Cup Final

The main viewing party will take place at Bixby Park, where the Kickin’ It Hub will feature a giant screen showing the World Cup Final.

Visitors can also expect:

  • Soccer-themed activities
  • A Kids Zone with inflatables and face painting
  • Food trucks
  • A beer garden
  • DJs before and after the match

If you’re on the east side of the route, the Art Theatre on 4th Street will also host a free big-screen viewing of the final, along with live music, family activities, and free bike valet.

More to explore

Throughout the route, you’ll also find entertainment hubs on Pine Avenue and in the East Village, plus music, vendors, community organizations, and local businesses taking part in the event.

The Downtown Entertainment Zone will also be active, allowing visitors to purchase beverages from participating businesses and enjoy them within the designated area on The Promenade.

One last World Cup celebration

Whether you’ve been attending the Downtown watch parties over the past few weeks or just want to catch the championship match with other fans, Beach Streets will be Long Beach’s final Soccer in the LBC event before the tournament comes to a close.
