Long Beach to Launch 3 Simultaneous Fireworks Shows This Fourth of July
Long Beach is going bigger than ever for the Fourth of July.
As part of Sea to Shining LBC: America’s 250, the city will celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday with three synchronized fireworks shows launching at the same time along the coastline. Instead of one central display, fireworks will light up the sky from three different locations, making this one of the largest Fourth of July celebrations Long Beach has ever hosted.
When do the fireworks start?
All three fireworks shows are scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and will last approximately 20 minutes. The shows are free to watch from public viewing areas along the coast.
Fireworks locations
The three launch locations are:
- 1. Queen Mary / Downtown Waterfront
- 2. Cherry / Junipero Beach
- 3. Granada Beach, just east of the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier in Belmont Shore.
Because the fireworks are synchronized, spectators along much of the Long Beach coastline should be able to enjoy the celebration from multiple vantage points.
Where should you watch?
There are plenty of free viewing areas along the waterfront, including:
- Downtown Waterfront
- Shoreline Village
- Shoreline Aquatic Park
- Lions Lighthouse
- Alamitos Beach
- Cherry Beach
- Junipero Beach
- Bluff Park
- Belmont Shore
- Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier
- Granada Beach
Parking lots and street parking are expected to fill early, so organizers recommend arriving well before the 9 p.m. start time if you plan to drive.
More than just fireworks
The fireworks are the grand finale of Sea to Shining LBC, a weeklong celebration honoring America’s 250th birthday while also showcasing Long Beach’s role as a host city for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Throughout the week, the city will feature Olympic preview events, community activities, restaurants, entertainment, and waterfront celebrations leading up to July 4.
For an interactive event map, FAQs, and the latest updates, organizers have also published an official guide for Sea to Shining LBC.
